Posted Jan 4, 2005

Microboards has introduced the DX-2 Publisher, a new desktop CD/DVD publishing solution. The system allows consumers to produce larger quantities of discs with finished, professional labels at a lower cost per disc. The DX-2 utilizes HP-based inkjet technology with Microboards' patented automation.

The DX-2, available immediately through authorized Microboards resellers, ships with a software suite including SureThing label editing software and PrassiTech Zulu 2 recording and automation software. Key features, according to Microboards, include full-coverage, 4800dpi printing; "virtually unlimited" batch queueing for setting up multiple unattended print and record jobs and storing the jobs for future repetition; reliable performance using robotics based on Microboards' patented autoloading technology, with minimal moving parts and advanced error-handling; an end-to-end warranty covering a full year of everything included: robotics, printer, recorders, and software.

The DX-2 Publisher contains two recording drives and is available as a DVD/CD or CD-only publisher. It features 100-disc input/output capacity and supports the latest recording speeds. The DX-2 comes standard with a one-year limited warranty and unlimited phone support. The DX-2 will begin shipping immediately.
