LSI Logic Now Offering MPEG-4 aacPlus on ZSP DSP Cores
Posted Feb 1, 2005

The LSI Logic ZSP division and Coding Technologies, in collaboration with ESPICO, have announced their MPEG-4 aacPlus decoding for use on all ZSP digital signal processor (DSP) cores.

The MPEG-4 aacPlus v2 is AAC coupled with Coding Technologies' SBR (Spectral Band Replication) and Parametric Stereo technologies. Both SBR and Parametric Stereo are backward- and forward-compatible methods. As a result, aacPlus delivers streaming and downloadable 5.1 multichannel audio at 128 Kbps, and CD-quality stereo at 32Kbps.
